About
Thanks for clicking onto my blog and taking an interest in me and my work. I hope you enjoy looking through my entries and seeing the projects I’ve been involved in over the recent weeks and months – life is certainly varied and busy.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved taking photographs. I still have very clear memories of my excitement when my Truprint photographs were delivered by the postman (back in the days of film!!) – those special moments, never to be repeated that were captured forever.
Childhood enthusiasm developed into a very real interest and I knew that taking photographs was what I wanted to do. Art college and a BA Hons degree in documentary photography followed which helped me to hone my skills and learn to ‘see’ things from a whole new perspective. With a photojournalist’s eye and a relaxed approach, I now specialise in capturing people, events and environments naturally and unobtrusively using almost exclusively natural light.
Things I love – crisp winter light, shooting into the sun, flaking painted walls, wood, the smell of the sea, old Hollywood movie photographs, the Arts & Crafts movement, Elliott Erwitt (and my husband, son, family and friends of course!)
Things I don’t like – bossy photographers, over sentimental or staged images, spot coloured black & white photographs
